sabra hanson
A competitive athlete since a very early age Sabra has always loved the thrill of competition, the camaraderie among athletes along with the inevitable endorphin rush. Still in her teens she was a member of the Canadian National Swim Team. Training for several years at the Sutherland Chan School of Massage Therapy in Toronto, Canada Sabra's focus narrowed early on to physiology and body mechanics. After moving to Dallas in 1992 Sabra continued her education in physical fitness by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer through the Cooper Institute. She used her extensive knowledge of physiology at the Texas Back Institute. During that time she has completed numerous marathons qualifying her for the Boston Marathon which she ran in 1995. Her marathon training and her swimming ability led to honing her skills in cycling; and all that naturally led Sabra to competing in various triathlons and Half-Iron Man competitions culminating in a strong finish in the Iron Man competition in Lake Placid, New York in 1999.
The intense training required for such regimens with the resultant and inevitable injuries led her to Yoga. Through Yoga Sabra finds a new understanding of her body and experiences the inner peace, strength, flexibility and endurance universally associated with the practice of Yoga. She tells fellow athletes and students to listen to their bodies and that such listening holds the master key to each of their possibilities. Many Yoga teachers have influenced her in her Yoga teaching and practice; notable are Baron Baptiste from Boston, MA , Dave Oliver and Cheryl Hall from the At One Yoga Studio in Scottsdale, AZ all from whom she earned various professional certificates in the teaching and history of Yoga.
Her early training in Massage Therapy and her work in Personal Training gave her a natural introduction into the practice and teaching of Core Fusion. Sabra is committed to helping others to realize their potential and delights in their progress.
