gitta sivander
Gitta Sivander has been a passionate mover even before she was born…according to her mother. Born in Germany and raised in Germany and Sweden, she was a competitive horse back gymnast and an avid horse rider. Engaging early in movement and expression, she was quickly drawn to theater and later studied at circus school in Paris. Gitta’s career as a performing dancer and balancing-acrobat led her to the US in 2001 where she came to study and teach at Moving On Center in San Francisco. Gitta has earned a Physical Therapy Degree (Germany), and multiple certifications in Somatic Movement Therapy, Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies and Yoga.
Addressing the psychophysical relationship, and looking at the whole being for health, is the foundation of all of her movement work with her students and clients. Gitta offers her combined experiences in her private practice “JOYTOMOVE”, where she teaches movement classes, partner-balance acrobatics and yoga; works with pregnant women and babies in the first 12 months (developmental movement); offers movement sessions and bodywork to clients of any age. She also coaches entertainers, actors and dancers on their movement, expression, body language and body connectivity. Since fitness through body-mind connection is a core value in Gitta’s work, teaching Core Fusion is a natural expression. She is thrilled to be a teacher at exhale and to bring body-mind awareness to the community of exhale students!
