sherry brourman
Sherry has been a Physical Therapist for thirty years, and deeply involved in Yoga for six. Her therapeutic focus has always been movement, both for understanding injury and pain and as a healing tool. The movement that she has studied most deeply is walking. That served as the inspiration for her book, Walk Yourself Well, which defines not that one should walk, but rather, how to walk to create balance in the body. When first exposed to the depths of Yoga, it became the perfect confluence of all that she loves and studies around the physical and spiritual bodies and their ever-present interconnectedness.
Now, due to her ever growing exploration into the structural depths of asana, the realization that body balance is the same, no matter the movement or the asana, is the core of her yoga teaching. Sherry combines the therapeutic principles of symmetry and core strength to every moment in class, whether it is the transition to or the actuality of, every asana. Sherry has studied extensively with Max Strom and Sarah Powers and had some study with Georg Feuerstein, Gary Kraftsow, Gabriella Giubilaro and Saul David Raye.
