MEET OUR FOUNDERS

ANNBETH ESCHBACH, CEO + FOUNDER

Hometown: I grew up in the Pacific Northwest in Bellevue, Washington

What was your first job? I hired myself out as a ventriloquist for children’s birthday parties at the age of 12.

What inspired you to start exhale? After completing my MBA at NYU, I continued to work in the fitness and spa space but saw a void in the market...when we started exhale the fitness and spa marketplace looked very different than it does today. We believed that the fitness and spa world needed to move in another direction. Exhale was founded on the premise that what people wanted from the spa and fitness industry did not exist and we dreamed of creating a unique brand that integrated transformational mind body spa and boutique fitness classes under one roof.

What is your favorite exhale class? Why? Core Fusion Barre, Core Fusion Yoga, and Chill Yoga. Killer total body workout, amazing effective core work, and pure relaxation. It is the whole package.

What is your favorite exhale spa therapy? Why? I am crazy about the Flow Massage because it is deep therapeutic work that leaves me energized and elongated without any pain. I am also addicted to the Power Facial — which is the uber facial. In one hour I can address all my skincare needs while also relaxing, unwinding…and waking up up looking like I just got back from vacation.

What are you up to when you’re not at work? I have two gears, on and off. On is work and off is Shelter Island where we chill on weekends. It is the most peaceful, low key, uplifting and beautiful place — the antidote to NYC. A place to chill, bike, entertain, meditate, SUP, read, and eat really good meals. Plus, I’m only a hop, skip, and a ferry away from exhale Bridgehampton for class.

How does exhale make you better? Exhale fuels my spirit, energy, balance, and wellbeing.

JULIA SUTTON, COO

Hometown: Washington Township, NJ

What was your first job? Cashier at Chick-fil-A.

How did you get involved with exhale? I worked with exhale’s CEO (Annbeth Eschbach) at Wellbridge when exhale was just an idea, then decided to leave my position as National Spa Director for Wellbridge to help start exhale.

What is your favorite exhale class? Why? I love Core Fusion Extreme. It reminds me of my days of training for sports teams. It’s a very challenging, time efficient work out.

What is your favorite exhale spa therapy? Why? The Power Facial. In one therapy I can shave a few years off my face!

What are you up to when you’re not at work? I have three daughters so a lot of time is spent coordinating and juggling their activities. Our whole family loves being outdoors, especially ocean sports in the summer and skiing in the winter.

How does exhale make you better? Exhale is comprised of the most gifted healers in the industry. I am constantly learning new ways of thinking and being present from my interactions with the team.
